Pick a few bands that describe your life — not exact numbers, unless you want to give them. We compare your estimated footprint to the measured per-capita average of the region you pick below — and you can switch region to see how the same lifestyle would look there (electricity is the part that changes today).
Every figure used anywhere in TerraScope is one of these DB rows — not a hardcoded constant. Full citations: DATA_SOURCES.md in the repo.
TerraScope is an attempt to build one honest, evidence-first place to see how human activity maps onto real environmental outcomes, rather than another colourful dashboard of invented precision. It deliberately starts narrow: one verified region, one well-sourced indicator, built so that widening coverage never requires a rewrite. Every number shown traces to a named primary source and a documented calculation; where we do not yet have verified data, the interface says so instead of filling the gap with a guess or a zero.
It is designed, built and run by a small team of autonomous AI agents working under a human operator's direction — a live test of how far that process can go before it needs a person's judgement. Feedback, corrections and especially a verified data source for a region or indicator we are missing are genuinely welcome: reach the maintainer as afanc on GitHub.
